       In 1991, after years of serving as Printing Plant Manager and Pressroom Supervisor, our founder, Joe Mengel, assumed the duties of General Manager of a prestigious mailing operation. During his years of service, he had served as co-chairman of the Lancaster County Postal Customer Council. Recognizing that fulfillment was a natural progression, he built a separate, successful fulfillment facility. Taking his years of service and experience, he established Commonwealth Fulfillment & Distribution, Inc. in Lititz, PA. Unfortunately, 10 years later, our Founder and Owner of Commonwealth Fulfillment & Distribution, Joe Mengel, passed away following a lengthy illness. Joe’s son, Mike Mengel, has taken over ownership of Commonwealth Fulfillment & Distribution. Mike is extremely interested in promoting his father’s corporate vision and business legacy. It has been through our current loyal customers that our solid foundation was formed to allow and plan for future growth and expansion. Dale Zimmerman

General Manager

       Dale Zimmerman has been with Commonwealth Fulfillment & Distribution almost since the start of the company in 2007. Dale had been a person of many hats during his time here at Commonwealth. Dale started as a packaging assembler and laborer. In a very short time, through his work ethics and determination, Dale was promoted to Plant Foreman and then to Plant Manager. Dale continued to excel and was promoted to General Manager of Commonwealth in March of 2017.
       Dale is an accomplished executive in the areas of Production Operations, Customer Satisfaction, and Quality Assurance. Dale is a creative thinker with the ability to develop a strategic approach and implement necessary means to achieve Commonwealth’s objectives.
       Dale’s experience is broad-based and customer focused. His skills in operations, inventory control, and quality management, assures Commonwealth’s customers that they will receive a quality job with on time delivery. He effectively utilizes his strong interpersonal skills to improve performance and Commonwealth’s effectiveness.
       Dale continued his professional development in management with courses at Penn State Berks, Dale Carnegie Management Training, Toastmaster International, Leadership Lancaster, RVIA Board of Directors, RVIA Industry Education Committee, and RVIA Industry Committee on Excellence, Lancaster Chamber Quality Achievement Award Examiner, and Junior Achievement Student Trainer.
